It's dark, and Bill Gates is talking to me

I’m at the keynote address for the RSA Security conference, in San Francisco. I haven’t gone to a non-USENIX conference in several years, and the crowd here is definitely more suity. Hardly any of the grungy-unix-hacker vibe I’ve gotten used to, but I’m very curious to see how the (marketing) differences (Microsoft advertising) manifest themselves (glossy, smiling people who live in a very different technical world than I started out in).

It’ll be an education.

Also, no joke, Bill Gates is in front of this giant subterranean conference room at the Moscone Center, talking about how great their new products are.
