Stepping out
It’s been in the works for a few weeks, but I’ll just note this here: In the next couple of weeks, I’ll be stepping out from my web-producer position at Wisconsin Public Radio. I’ve had some good experience over the last year and a half, but there are several projects under which I’d like to start fanning the flames a little higher. Among them are a friend’s very cool energy startup company, for which I’ll be doing some systems work, and several different produced radio projects.
It’s frightening, the prospect of returning to the freelance world and stepping away from the steady paycheck and fixed desk that WPR has been providing, but I’ve been feeling entrepreneurial for quite a while now, and am truly lucky to have a spouse who’s encouraging me to pursue that feeling.
The challenge, as it was before landing a steady full-time gig, will be self-motivating and self-regulating, but that has been and will be the challenge forever, I figure.
