On beyond “thunderstorm”
Yesterday, after 2 days of 100+ temperatures, the heat snapped, after a violent storm… except “violent” really doesn’t do it justice. Therefore, I’m coining a new term to describe a thunderstorm which has gone further than mere “violence,” to wit: carwash. Watch as I use it in this example.
“Hey, did you guys get any rain yesterday?”
“Hooboy, did we ever. It was a total carwash.”
Seriously, the windows on the west side of the house looked like someone was throwing buckets of water at them, and the one window we’d left cracked an inch open was spraying a fantail of water into the house. No exaggeration. It was like having an angry mob of the water creatures from The Abyss outside the door, howling for our heads on pikes.

When I saw the title for this blog entry, I thought you were going to write something about Mel Gibson. I assume you were punning on his movie “Beyond Thunderdome”. This excited me because it looked like an excellent opportunity for me to regurgitate a joke I had made in some random forum post recently. That joke being:
As punishment for Mel’s recent drunken tirade, he should be forced to make another Mad Max movie.
But, alas, you were not posting about Mel Gibson. So, I wasn’t able to say any of that. *pout*
