TOKYO (Reuters) - While many companies in Japan appear to be going to
the dogs, NTT Mobile Communications Network (NTT Docomo) said Friday
it expects to expand business through a coming boom in mobile
communications, including those for pets. The president of the
world's biggest mobile-phone operator said the company expected a
second phase of business expansion through a future boom in mobile
communications, a market he estimated would grow to some 360 million
units in Japan in 2005, including 20 million units for pets. "With
pets carrying mobile communication equipment, owners can judge from
their cries whether they are in trouble," he said. ###
